Jermain Taylor comes to mind.

Meldrick Taylor had the best wins of any of those guys after their first defeats, yet he gets #1. Is this the HBO Legendary Nights effect?
I have a feeling Kelly Pavlik will be talked about in discussions like this in years time.Comment

Cus died when Mike was a 12 fight prospect.
Of course it really ****ed with Mike mentally, but he didn't peak as a fighter until 2 and a half years after Cus passed.Comment

Mike never officially peaked. You know why? Because Cus died. We saw a small % of what Mike really had. With Cus, we would've seen what Mike was really capable of.
Then when Mike went to jail for 4 years, that finished him off.
Let me ask you something. Do you really think Mike loses to "Buster Douglas" with Cus D'motto on his side? Of course not.Comment

Cus being alive just would prolonged Tyson's reign a bit before he self destructed, IMO.Mike never officially peaked. You know why? Because Cus died. We saw a small % of what Mike really had. With Cus, we would've seen what Mike was really capable of.

He was a deeply troubled person both with and without Cus.Comment

And we're not even going to talk about Robin Givens. Now, if you want to talk about ruining a fighter, she's the tropy for it.
Let's not forget how Tyson crashed his car in a tree and tried to kill himself over her. This was all before the Douglass fight.
Haha and people think his first loss to Douglass ruined him.Comment

Without him? Abosolutely.
With him? No.
Cus was the yin to Tyson's yang. You have to think of how young Tyson was. He made mistakes that a lot of teens make growing up in poverty in Brooknam. Not Brooklyn, but Brooknam. No need to explain why it's called that.Comment
