I actually made a vid about this a year ago. I took the quote that Mayweather said for the Gatti presser about how fighters aren't the same mentally after he beats them.
Most of the guys he beat from '30 on up weren't the same. In N'dou's next fight after Mayweather he had to retire due to having collapsed after the bout. Eventually he came back but he just wasn't the same after fighting Mayweather. DLH look awful against Forbes after fighting Mayweather. Hatton looked bad against Lazcano and lackluster against Malignaggi. Mosley looked awful against Mora. At the time, Manfredy was highly regarded when Mayweather beat him and he wasn't the same afterward.
One could argue that Zab Judah found some success and perhaps JMM, I guess. But in all honesty, Mayweather changes fighters.Comment

PWill's punch resistance weakened after their first fight. If you watched the Cintron fight that took place after [because PWill knew he got a gift and strayed from Maravilla], Cintron landed a nice shot in the beginning of the 4th and he buckled. That fight was at '54. It also didn't help that at the time, he kept fluctuating in weight from '47-'60... which isn't a good idea when it comes to punch resistance (i.e. RJJ). If Lara was devastating puncher... yikes.Comment

Mayweather mentally ruins you.
If you look at the majority of all his fights, the majority of opponents give up after the sixth round:
Mosley
Oscar De La Hoya (stopped throwing the jab as some people like to incorrectly assume, when in fact he threw more jabs in the latter half of the fight, it's just that Floyd took it away)
Judah
etc the list goes on....
He just mentally ruins fighters, takes their confidence away, drains them completely; hence, why a lot of them display stamina problems.Comment

I dont know about ruined but just like fighting a klitschko or Manny and losing, it can affect you mentally. Cause each are seen as the Top of the top, so when you've reached it, and failed at your ultimate goal it can affect you. Many fighters can fall into the feeling of like "What else is there really to accomplish?" kind of mood.Last edited by DE100; 08-24-2011, 04:06 PM.Comment

Mentally yes! He does embarrass you which makes it difficult for you to even show your face, I like JMM but the embarrassing way he beat JMM and making him miss, making him look like an amateur was too much, same goes with what he did to Mosley, Gatti, and Hatton.Comment
