That ought to be very interesting.

Its one thing to deny an allegation when you're just shooting the ****. Its completely another to falsely testify under oath when perjury ramifications can easily cost you 20 years in prison.

And if all of Team Pacquiao is made aware of that and realizes that their assses are on the line and they aren't the ones making millions, they just might have a change of heart.
    Bro,

With all due respect, I have a bit of different experience here.

Keep in mind that this is a CIVIL case, and there are probably not going to be any officers of the court there. Just private attorneys. As a GENERAL rule, the District Attorney will not get too involved in the proceedings of civil cases. So, for example, if Ariza lied...then what?

Is Floyd THEN going to go to the Clark County DA and report that Ariza lied during a deposition for a defamation case? Unlikely. And even if Floyd did that, will the DA be motivated to prosecute such a (garbage) case? Even more unlikely.

Even in cases where you lied to a federal agent, the penalties for perjury are not that severe. See Martha Stewart, Lil' Kim and Marion Jones.

For a six month sentence in a minimum security camp, Ariza would lie.

    I would.

But that's the thing, right? He isn't "ignoring" it. His lawyers have responded via a filing.

It's all a legal game here.

I have been wondering what happened to Floyd's lawsuit against Top Rank, it has been so long but never heard about it getting resolved, I guess this is why.

I still never got how Floyd and Top Rank could do anything together with that hanging over them and that was even before this extra litigation came up.

A smart lawyer could drag this ish out and just run up manny's legal bills.

...which may be why manny was so frustrated about these delays.

From everything I have read regarding this on sites such as this, him never bothering to show up equates to a default judgement up to 1 million USD...I could be wrong, but from everything I have seen (including everything posted by *******s, *****s, etc) it basically says if Floyd never shows up he is subject to a penalty of no more than 1 million in damages.
