mebbe not, but they are certainly set up for that to be the case. a win over bute, dirrell etc. would definitely make that person possibly the best smw of all time.

I think Froch has a better case if he beats ward. But i would want to see him rematch Kessler and beat bute before i could see it being true and fair.

yes possibly, but the thing is Dirrell and Bute never really beat anyone. Abraham on dq? At 168? Yeah It's an ok win, but i don't feel they are proven the slightest.

Bute fighting Glen is a good step to take.

i agree. but in comparison to what the two other candidates for the title, roy and joey zags, i think they'll be rite there. smw doesnt have a strong history. so either way, i think they'll be in the discussion.

Froch pretty much already has a better resume than Calzaghe. It will be undeniable if he beats Ward.

However in terms of ability Froch will never be better and he always loses head to head, imo.

What sets Froch's record apart is that he's winning fights away from home.

He beat Taylor in the US, Abraham in Finland, Johnson in the US, took on Kessler in Denmark, has a another win in California and if he beat Ward will have won the Super 6 on foreign soil in his opponent's nation.

Ward has never fought a big fight outside of his home state never mind home nation, Calzaghe fares a little better with 4 fights outside the UK, but the opponents weren't of the quality on Froch's cv.

good point weebler. froch has definitely had the roughest schedule of ANY boxer over the past 3 years. if froch beats ward he is HOF LOCK. . . Ward on the other hand, has had a MUCH EASIER road to the final. . . Either way, he's still standing, and if he beats Froch, he deserves every accolade he receives. .

Close, just finish off that pretender Bute will do it for me.

Would Calzaghe beat Bute? Or is there anything that you see in Bute that would frustrate Calzaghe like Speed or Power? Is Calzaghe's fastest opponent a past his best Roy who has slowed down a bit over the years?

                      Yes, easily passes Calzaghe.

Beating Bute would just be the cherry on top.
