In my opinion, all Goossen has ever done for Paul's career, was to cash him out, with these high risk low reward fights. It's like these promoters buy into this myth that HBO is the be all and end all of the sport of boxing. Other networks probably would have offered similar propositions to Goossen for much lesser name opponents. He should have never allowed HBO to pressure Williams into that rematch with Martinez and also he should have never allowed Paul to take that fight against a good fighter like Erislandy just coming off a KO loss. That was very foolish in my judgement. By doing so he may have shaved years off of Paul's career. Now he probably would never get those huge paydays against the likes of Manny Pacaquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

Goossens Are Riding Paul Williams Into The Ground Like They Did Michael Nunn!

Paul Williams is one knockout from being a shot fighter, headed back to fighting on ESPN. Before he left 147, he was potentially the guy and due to his freakish size, nobody would fight him. Now he's grown up, been twice beat down by Martinez, and has not looked good since departing 147. Goossens need more horses in their stable, because they rode Williams to death Dow the wrong, mis-managed roads. He's shot now. His next "big" fight will probably be his last; a career resembling Mark Breland... short and under-achieved.

If they want a fairly big name fight then Paul Williams should fight Shane Mosley

That fight should have happened a couple of years ago when Mosley was on his "no one wants to fight me" begging tour with Pac and May. PW called him out and said he would come down to 147 for it, and of course Mosley wanted nothing to do with it. I see no way Shane would take this fight now, even with PW's apparent decline.

I don't even know who williams should fight... If we say put him in their with a Wolak or Molina what will it do for his career. He fought elite fighters in Lara, Martinez, (a game) Cintron, Winky,Margarito....To go from those names to a Wolak or Molina seems like a step back to me.

I understand he should get an easier fight than usual to restore his confidence after the brutal ko he suffered and the embarrassing gift he got in his last fight but Williams did win and he should look up not down.

He should go for a tittle... Williams vs K9, then maybe he can fight Dzinziruk and unify the IBF/WBO. Easier said than done but that's the best road I think Williams should take.
