Hopkins vs. Dawson is a PPV? Why?

Why couldn't GBP make a deal with ESPN or a "free tv" channel to show this fight. I'm gonna buy it but man.

HBO blew their budget on weak ass fighters with no fanbases like alexander, bradley, etc. so unfortunately PPV is the ONLY way this fight can happen this year, otherwise we would have to wait till 2013, or watch hopkins & dawson fight lesser opponents.

It's one of those unfortunate things but in some cases, like this, PPV actually makes fights happen. If HBO was smarter with their money (i.e not guaranteeing alexender $1.3 million after a loss to bradley, etc.), this fight would be on regular HBO.

I'd be shocked if this PPV broke 50k buys. I'm guessing it will do like 2k-7k max.

This is why people at HBO sports got fired!! IMO it was long over due hopefully the new person in charge has sense so non PPV worthy fights dont cost us fans cent$

hbo ran out of dates (budget). there were tons of articles about it. they're trying to stack up a solid undercard to make it worthy, not sure if it's complete though
