    Seth Mitchell

I only got back on these forums recently, so I'm not sure how much this guy has been discussed.

I've got to say, we might actually have a legit american heavyweight prospect here.

I'm seeing a good jab, I'm seeing him go to the body with all of his punches including the jab, and I'm seeing him roll and slip punches. Looks like there is some legit boxing skill, plus obvious power and speed for his size.

I think the problem with the US heavyweight propects is that the speed and power is there, but there is nothing else, and it's just not good enough when they fight a really good schooled European heavyweight with an amateur background.

With this guy I'm seeing a lot of stuff I like skillwise.

yeah he needs to step up the competition. I've also noticed he seems to lean in a lot when he has guys on the ropes, so he might be susceptible to a good uppercut.

He just needs to work hard to hone his craft, it is nice to see a guy who actually is at least a physical specimen though.

He is rough around the edges and still needs to hone his craft, but if he is willing to put in the work and he doesn't get rushed I don't see why he couldn't make something of himself.

Not like the division is stacked so he will surely get his chance to shine, if he has it.~

People nutted in the underpants over David Haye, a guy who was athletic and powerful with little else in the way of skills.

Mitchell has great natural athleticism, has power, and more importantly seems to be a humble and hardworking young man willing to do whatever it takes to learn and improve.

It's going to come down to whether or not he can take a punch, because if he can he will be a very dangerous opponent for anyone in the world. If he turns out to have a chin like Travis Walker, well, then I guess he will be the next Travis Walker.

Mitchell and Wilder are rather intrugiuing young prospects for American fans. The Euro **** here are quick to dismiss them but that's mostly because they feel threatened.

That is true chin will be a huge factor for him like most heavies, tough to get to the top without that, although in this era it doesn't seem to mean as much.

            I miss heavyweight knock outs~

Mitchell's need for a chin is more important to his success because he is gonna get hit fighting the way he does no matter how much he polishes up defensively.

If he can eat a couple right hands just to land his own shots he will be able to break down a lot of good fighters.

I would say he needs 2 or 3 more fights before we can get a real gauge on him. The nature of the beast right now leads to most of these young Heavyweights getting rushed into fights they aren't ready for. Whether Mitchell gets shoved into a huge fight without a couple decent step ups remains to be seen.

I'd love to see him against that loudmouth **** Kevin Johnson.

Yea I agree completely chin is real important for him because he will never be the most skilled guy but as you say he could make it work if he can take a punch.

I hope they don't rush him but with how soft heavy is it is very hard to not grab the cash of a big fight. King Pin and him were beefing right, I definitely want to see that fight and that would be a very good step up from him even though Johnson cant bust a g**** with his punch.

I was looking forward to seeing how Mitchell was going to handle Mollo. I hear Golden Boy are trying to put that fight on a sept 16th card on espn.
