BRITS what are you views on this ??

"One fight your promoter Joe DeGuardia mentioned to me was Joe Calzaghe, if and that's a big if, he comes to America to fight. How do you feel about that fight?"

"I said it once and I'll say it again. I'm not going to waste any time on someone who obviously has no intentions of challenging himself or taking risks to make big fights. If he feels comfortable in his hometown fighting less than stellar opponents, and if he can make a living doing things like that, that's his business. Antonio Tarver is on a mission to conquer the world and continue to prove that I am the best fighter in the world pound for pound."

I just think that Tarver completely dodged the question. Isn't anything else to add.

...No, what he said was that hes not going to waste time with someone who talks the talk but never walks the walk. Anyone can call out anyone, but until he actively gets to america and actually FIGHTS SOMEONE HERE then there is no use even elaborating on any intrests at all.

I'm starting to get pissed off at Antonio Tarver. Since when does he display skills that show he could be a p4p #1 fighter..He's got decent speed, a good left hand, and a decent jab, beat an old shotty fighter in Roy Jones Jr and he thinks hes God. He's making himself look like he was better then Jones Jr cuz he beat him 3 years out of his prime. I can't wait till he gets ***** slapped if he moves to heavy. Toney will make him his *****.

I think it's a little hypocritical of Tarver to harp on about Calzaghe never leaving the UK when in fact he has, and it is Tarver that has never left the States.

And he's saying "fighting less then stellar opposition". Yes, I admit Calz has screwed around with his career in terms of big fights but Tarver's claim to fame is Roy Jones (he picks on him when he has to come down from heavie, BIG MAN THERE TARVER!). He also even said he wants some easy fights, so whose the one fighting "less then stellar opposition" now. What a ****head.

I dont think Tarver can talk, he's the one who priced himself out of the Calzaghe fight a couple of years ago. Asking for too much money is ducking IMO, all Tarver need to do is say "if Joe want the fight i'm ready".

The fight is a bit like Tszyu vs Hatton, even though Joe has been an undisputed champ at his weight for as long as i care to remember i think he should be willing to travel because he'd be moving up in weight to face the light heavy champ but having said that, if the fight generates more money in the UK, which its likely to do they will both need to agree a location.

I'd love too see this fight becuase its the two best from their weight classes but from past experience with these two i doubt either of them wants it enough to make the fight happen.

Its the center of the boxing world, even if you dont like it, thats the way it is. Its a double standard that you dont have to fight outside of america to revered, whereas people who only fight in their home country are often called out for doing so. Its because america is so different from coast to coast that fighting only here is just as hostile as anywhere else. If im from Oakland, and i take a fight against Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden, nobody is going to be cheering for me. If im from Florida, and i take a fight in texas against Rocky Juarez, again, nobody is going to cheer for me. Thats the difference between fighting here and fighting abroad.

What if Calzaghe fights Tarver in the Staples centre Los Angeles, will everyone be cheering for Calzaghe because Tarver comes from Florida?
