If Byrd had success slipping and countering effectively enough to the point where Vitali became so frustrated that he eventually quit on his stool...

Can you imagine what Toney would do to this clown? We're talking
a lopsided massacre of EPIC proportions!

Vitali would leave the arena on a stretcher.

There's nothing that Byrd can do in the ring that James Toney can't do over 9000 times better.

So no shot for toney at all?

You say he's too big for toney, do you see him knocking out toney?

Has toney ever gotten badly beat up?
Yes, Roy Jones beat him up, and Sam Peter beat him up worse, nearly KO'd him, so that he had to hold on to the top rope and steady himself.

There could never be any comparison between Toney and VK. You simple guys have made Toney into a cult figure. Klitschko wouldn't fight him because they'd be accused of killing a midget. They'd slaughter him, both of them. He'd spend all his time trying to avoid a blizzard of punches with KO written on each.

The way they wouldn't fight Holyfield, is why they wouldn't fight Toney no matter how brash his mouth. They were too decent, and had too much respect for themselves to allow such a mismatch. A fat, overaged, slow moving slob with some upper body movement, but zero foot movement. WK is 6'8" Toney 5'9"...............

You are talking about a Klitschko who had had about 25 fights, ALL of which had ended in not more than 2-3 rds, mostly in 1, except 3, but none of which reached 10. He was basically still a beginner, with only 50-60 rds to his credit. The equivalent of 6-8 10 rounders.

And Byrd was definitely a VERY elusive guy, far more than Toney, who used only upper body movement. Byrd was very fast on his feet as well, ans klitschko had fought nobody like him. He STILL won all the rounds except the last, when he had to quit. If it had been a 10 rd fight he'd have won overwhelmingly 9-1.

There's no comparison. Byrd still did very well, but look how badly he went down before WK, in TWO fights, who, although younger, had more experience both as an amateur and a pro. Klitschko nearly beat him to death in the first and KO'd him in the second.

It was a credit to Byrd, whom I've always liked, apart from his religious outbursts, which never did him any good anyway.
