Rocky 6 Is going to start shooting soon and Sylvester has
choose Mike Tyson to play the part of Mason Dixon!
I got the whole story according to an Interview with Stallone and
some websites that gave the half of the story and some scripts
provided by Sly magazine.
In the film, Adrien has died because of cancer, lonely and retired
boxer Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement, intending to fight a
few low-profile local fights just to keep his hand in. But when he's approached to fight a match with reigning heavyweight champ
Mason "The Line" Dixon (Mike Tyson). Rocky's modest little comeback becomes the center of a media firestorm.
In Rocky VI, Clubber Lang - who played Rocky Balboa's opponent in "Rocky III" - will now be a commentator.
Ivan Drago will now be the trainer of Rocky
Rocky has some money problems and might have to close his beloved gym/rec center down. So Rocky decides to come out of retirement and have a boxingmatch for a fund raiser to save his gym/rec center.
Rocky knows he'll need a big name to spar with, so he contacts none other then Ivan Drago!
Ivan Drago is actually a changed man. After losing to Rocky Balboa in their boxing match, Drago realized the horror he did.
[Ending Rocky's career and more importantly killing Apollo Creed.]
Drago's fight with Rocky was his last. He felt so bad for what he did, he could not box anymore. So he retired from boxing in 1990 at age 30. His wife left him as a result and was clearly only interested in him for fame and money.
He then moved back to Moscow to become a coal miner. He remarried
and started a family. He also learned how to speak English during the 80's and speaks it very well now without any problems. He also immediately stopped using steroids after his fight with Balboa.
He's a tough man to get a hold of and has only done one interview his whole life. And that was in the summer of 1995, Marking the ten year anniversary since Apollo's death. He invited 20/20 into his home in Moscow and he stunned the world when he actually broke down in tears when talking about Apollo Creed.
He only has done this one interview and even did the interview for free because he didn't want people thinking he was trying to gain sympathy and/or money. He has refused any interviews since and just wants to be left alone.
Rocky recalled the 95' interview and thought that since Drago has
changed his ways, he'd be willing to do the match. Especially if
he offered half of the money he was going to make.
However, Drago refused any money and offered to do the match for free. He was happy when he got the call from Rocky and was hoping he could finally put the past behind him. Even though it's been well over twenty years since Drago last stepped in a boxing ring, he figured he could remember enough and with the right training, he would do fine. Plus, since he was boxing 54-year old Rocky Balboa who also had not boxed in a ring for over twenty years, things would be evenly matched.
Drago was still very fit and exercise regularly. Plus, oddly enough Drago actually didn't think he'd stand a chance against Rocky and had no problem playing "the bad guy" and getting beaten. So the two agreed it would be a "legends match" and promised each other, it would be sparring at the most and would be nothing like the match they had in 1985. 8 rounds. Headgear. The works.
