If you're a rich parent, would you send your kid to learn how to play Tennis, etc, or to a gym where he will had his brains beatten the **** out of?

It's so blatantly obvious that I can barely be bothered to type it out..

Does sucking a silver spoon make you tough? Or does fighting to survive make you tough? Think hard now..

I mean the main reason kids take boxing is to learn how to defend themselves. Usually, parents with money AND want their kids to learn how to defend themselves send their kids to Karate, Tae Kwon Do, etc...

What Parent wants to see their kids with bruises all of the time?

Sorry I can't really answer that as I grew up in Brooklyn..
But if that's what's "IN", you know all about a band wagon.
Popularity is what it's all about. I'm sure if Boxing would be popular in your area, more people would attend

the most common explaination because it is true is that boxing is another way out for those who dont have much or come from nothing...they have a lot o frustrations to get out and sometimes it translates into an aggressive fighter...then the trainer discovers them and helps them turn that frustration into skill...

usually a person coming from a good life may have parents who lead them in the direction of learning a 'trade' if you will...

boxing has always been like a positive way to get out of poverty
