Why did he fight Mayorga and Foreman at 154 but wants it at 150 for Margarito?


Didn't Cotto specifically said that if you fight for the belt it should be at the right weight? Why the sudden change of heart with Margarito? Him and his fanatical nationalistic fans had a problem with Pac at 145.

To me Cotto shouldn't be considered a champion at 154 because he hasn't beaten a real good fighter at that weight. So I can understand why his team would ask the much bigger Margarito to fight at 150. At 154 it would be too tough to beat Margarito at his natural weight.

If Margarito could make 147 for Pacquiao he shouldn't have any problems making 150 for Cotto.

Wrong... He wont be weight drained at 150. Margarito has been spending most of his fighting days at 147, so anything that is north of that is an advantage for him. 150 or 154 is Margarito's comfort weight.
