The only weight penalty mentioned in the ORIGINAL contract specified that if Mayweather failed to make weight he would pay $500k per-pound, half of which was to be paid to the commission and the other half would go to Marquez.

Why would the commission get ANY money in a non-title catchweight bout? Agreed to by two combatants?

The fact that it was not a title-fight, and not at the divisional limit, has no bearing..... that fight still took place under NSAC jurisdiction.

For failing to make the contracted weight, Mayweather would have paid $500k per-pound in penalties, 50% would be paid to the commission, and the other 50% to Marquez.

They simply cut out the middle-man and shared a larger split.

Marquez received a re-negotiation fee.

I feel that Floyd is going to take some serious punishment from Ortiz. All Ortiz has to do is move his feet quick and be aggresive. If you noticed in Floyds interviews, when he really has to think about what he is saying he loses focus. Apply that same thing to Floyd in the ring, the knockout will come.
