I'm a huge Ortiz fan but I can't help but chuckle a little when he repeatedly says he had no problems at all making 140

If he's been training for 1-1.5 months already and he weighs 157 there's no way in hell he made 140 easily and/or safely lol.

Call it a penalty, an option clause, a reversal, an thingamajigbob. Doesn't matter. The reality is that he told THE WORLD what he was going to do.

Is it a penalty to me if I know in advance that I'm going to do it and pay the "fine"? Is it?

Shaefer knew it. Marquez knew it.

You upset that Marquez got humiliated for 36 minutes? That chafes your buns? Deal with it.

Your jealousy of Floyd isn't changing his position, ya know.
Then why did he agree on a catchweight if he months before publicly said that he would not comply?

Floyd is at 149 NOT because he is over-training or losing weight, he is at that weight because he takes care of himself physically, he works out, he does not put on weight between fights. In short, it is because he is in shape, period! Can't say the same for many other boxers.

If anything I think Ortiz has more too worry about just 30 days out and he has to drop 11 pounds, he has already allowed himself to grow into a middle weight going up too much between fights, not good.. I see him getting tired and stopped late because Floyd will be going to the body early...

Wait, huh? he's two pounds over the limit right now? so he'll obviously lose 2 pounds in a month. what are you talking about??? weight he's comfortable in? i know you're actually referring to the two pound fee for marquez but this is just a dumb comment.

you wanna talk about comfortable weights.... 145 .... 150 .. what weight class limits are these exactly???

Catchweight was thwe only way to sell the fight as more than a hig paying sparring session even if JMM was widely considered the 2nd best p4p boxer on the planet.

Always in top shape, unlike some boxers.
Its just because Mayweather is a small ww who could easily make 140 if he wanted to. But he dont wanna drain weight, maybe because he doesnt need to. He can beat guys that are much bigger physically. He moved up manny divisions already. Of course hes a disciplined man who trains hard but i doubt Ortiz is lazy, hes just the bigger man and has to drain more weight.
Pacquiao for example is a guy who has to gain weight in training camp and eat tons of food because hes so small!
