JMM's defense counter style- that floyd also uses- is honestly- for women like josie harris

its obviously cheap and cowardly- like a IDF soldier using women and children human shields

RJJ didnt exactly fight the cream of the crop during his prime either. He fought more civil service workers during that time than he did elite boxers.

In his PRIME under a lucrative HBO contract, he ALSO fought a police man, substitute teacher, and sanitation worker.

Roy's talent was breathtaking. In his prime he was unmatched, but he did take quite a few BS fights against BS opponents while milking that HBO contract he was under where he earned Millions regardless of who he fought.

The easiest style for the boxer/puncher is the swarming/pressure fighter who are typically slower, easier to find, likes to fight on the inside, throws high volume punches and would absorb large amounts of them in order to do so.

The most difficult style for the boxer/puncher is the pure boxer, because pure boxers throw fewer punches. They rarely trade, exchange or settle down on their punches for power. Are very defensive, mobile, like staying off the ropes, prefer fighting at a distance and at a slower pace; With constant jabs, feints and footwork.

The more I read D4thincarnation posts and threads, the less convinced I am that he even follows boxing as a sport.

I wouldn't call pac a boxer puncher, he's more like a ******ed brawler that fights in flurries.

On a scale of 1-10 his boxing skill is like a 3. His power is also overrated.

That's because Benitez could match Leonard's boxing skills and hold his own in the middle of the ring (hes still regarded as one of the best counter punchers in history). Can't say the same for Pacquaio, who is out classed against Mayweather in terms of pure skill, and without a question would be befuddled if the fight was 100% technical. He was actually technically outclassed by Marquez (who actually won more rounds) but his work rate, speed and power allowed him to get by.

Leonard wasn't a puncher, he was a pure boxer that happened to have some pop in his punches.

swarmers want to constantly engage, and keep the opponent off balance- best examples are nige benn and marvin haggler. swarmers usually have iron chins because their style means they get hit. other attributes include power, and high accuracy in the power shots. they usually are gym **** with high end stamina

                      swarming agressive fighters include
tyson at his prime (include a soid jab)
                      pacquiao

swarmers who look for 1 punch KOs
                      tyson after 88
                      pac in the mosley fight

turtle boxers are boxers who dont engage, dont throw- go for points wins by being more accurate, rarely ever look for a KO
this style is famous for its division in boxing circles- hardcore fans consider the turtle style the highest form of boxing ability- the ability to hit without taking damage

there are 2 styles of turtle

                      agressive and defense

agressive turtling is standing in front of your opponent and not taking shots- this is quite possiblily the riskyest style in boxing- it requires perfect reflexes, great anticipation and keen awareness of your opponent/ it also is usually associated with underatted chins. the most obvious examples of agressive turtles are prince naseem hamed, roy jones jr and david haye

defensive turtling is the ability to avoid damage whilst on the back foot, or in a defensive stance- right now the best defensive boxer is floyd mayweather- (although floyd is a very special case and i shall come to that later)
defensive turtles dont need as solid chins since their guard protects them, however what is requred is a good jab and jab counter

the reason floyd doesn't fit into the defensive turtle category is because he is a hybrid fighter- a fighter who has adapted both attack and defense and created his own style-
floyd is a heavy defesive fighter, who primarily uses defense tutrle however, he counters and employs the shoulder roll stance- an agressive defense stance- basically it allows him to stand in front of someone without being at great risk.
floyd also uses the pull counter- a defense to offense instant measure- this is a very highly skilled specialist move- only a few boxers in history have ever really perfected it- in essense- in a single move, floyd is able to move from defense to attack without risk, because he uses the opponents jab against them
