This is one of the few Mayweather fights I've been excited about (others being against DLH and Hatton) because it will actually be an interesting bout. I am still kind of surprised Mayweather took on a young and dangerous fighter, a fighter that's hungry and packs power and skill as well.
You might say Mayweather knows what he's doing or that he must have seen something in Ortiz that he he thought he could exploit but fact of the matter is, none of that takes away from the threat that Ortiz poses. The guy can take a punch, packs power and speed and is relentless when he has a purpose. He had one for the Berto fight and he certainly has a bigger one this time around. This fight is no joke, it could be one of the best fights in boxing history. Interesting circumstances and matchup.Comment

I'm a big Mayweather and Pac fan, and I'm honestly looking forward to both of their upcoming fights. IMHO both Pac and May are fighting opponents that are better then they're last 4-5 at this stage. Pacquiao is fighting someone who stylistically is always going to be a tough fight, & Mayweather is fighting someone who's young, strong, fast & southpaw.
Let's just hope this leads to the super-mega fight everyone's been waiting for.

34 years old, 16 month layoff.... AGAIN.
If he's still as sharp as ever, it is a mismatch.
If he's lost a step... it could turn into something else.

I'm excited for Mayweather vs Ortiz and Morales vs Matthysse. I was initially only excited for May-Ortiz, and just saw Morales-Barrios/Canelo-Gomez as fillers, to satisfy the big Mexican crowd that would probably be there. Now they definitely upgraded with putting Matthysse as Morales' opponent. Two WBC title fights on the same card, can't any better than that. Canelo-Gomez is still a shit match-up no matter how exciting it ends up being.Comment
