I think Matthysse is overrated as hell. Dude struggles with B-Level fighters. He has some nice skills, but he's slow as hell. He doesn't have the relentlessness Maidana has. He should've KO'd Alexander in their fight. But not only did he not finish him off when he had him hurt he actually let Alexander come back and win a couple rounds.

Matthysse is a refined Maidana without the kiler instinct. He's a B level fighter at best. His claim to fame is narrowingly beating B Level fighters and having it count as a loss.

They're both solid contenders imo. If any of them do become world champions, I expect them to have very short reigns. They'll never be elite fighters.

Matthysse is still undefeated in my eyes. He's a solid fighter but I doubt he's top dog at 140 (I think better than Zab, Alexander, current Morales, equal to Maidana, worse than Khan, Bradley)

This. Maidana took his will away, and remember that was Maidana's 1st U.S. fight too. I think everyone knows what level Maidana operates on, a guy who can dish out plenty of punishment and can take plenty as well. He's a tough fight for anyone because of his pressure style and resiliency. Not a good boxer in the slightest, but he's very good at what he does. Nobody overrates him to my knowledge.

Because they have power. Fighters with power always get overrated. Always.

I have Matthysse wining against Judah and Alexander, Maidana is a exiting fighter, I think he can win against any one in 140, he isn't good, but have a lot of power and intencity

I think they're both underrated. They were suppose to lose to fighters they have faced, yet they ended up winning or giving a close fight.

mathysse, its hard to say hes overrated. hes a good fighter, and i think ppl view him as such. nothing special tho.
And the simple fact that they make good fights and let their hands go makes them very easy to like.
