Yes boxing getting some justice finally..Eric Gomez, Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions, has advised BoxingScene.com that a letter was received from IBF, which orders Abner Mares to schedule an immediate rematch with Joseph Agbeko. The final bout of Showtime's bantamweight tournament took place on Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Mares won a twelve round majority decision to unify the IBF and WBC silver titles, but it was referee Russell Mora's performance during the fight that overshadowed anything that was accomplished in the ring.

The IBF is starting to be my fav sanctioning body..it looks like they are the only ones that enforced mandatories or they strip the champion, no interims, no super bull**** champions, no silver, diamond crap like the others. One champion per division, the way it's supposed to be.Comment

I've actually been thinking the same thing for a while now. I love that they strip champions for not fighting their mandatories, enforce rematches in controversial matches, and only have one champion per division, etc.... Just like you said: this is the way it should be!!!The IBF is starting to be my fav sanctioning body..it looks like they are the only ones that enforced mandatories or they strip the champion, no interims, no super bull**** champions, no silver, diamond crap like the others. One champion per division, the way it's supposed to be.Comment

A rematch is the only thing to do. Abner Mares doesn't deserve to be slapped with a no contest, he won the fight. Probably the best thing for both these guy because Donaire destroys either one. Once agbeko got going it was a pretty good fight, let's do it again.Comment

This time around Abner Mares is gonna be in the ref's radar, so I'm certain we're gonna see a more behaved Abner Mares. This fight is still a 50-50 fight in my opinion.Comment
