Edwin Valero: Overrated, never beat anybody

Anytime a person dies their "legend" grows whether in boxing or other avenues (Bruce Lee). He skill set looked far from great with those ugly looping left hooks and lunging off balanced jabs. Stop the foolishness saying this guy would beat this person and that person just because you know it'll never happen.

Do you know how many countless fights have been undefeated fighting bums or c class fighters in their country.

I don't think valero was soo much hyped for what he achieved so much as hyped for the potential s and skillset still waiting to be untapped. Thats how I feel anyway.

Couldn't agree more. Overrated to an extreme I've never seen before.

Would have been destroyed by any top fighter, and Pacquiao would have blown him away in like 6 or 7 rounds.

I agree, the poll was a landslide for him to beat Bradley and he never even fought at junior welter, and his best win was probably Tony Demarco and that says a lot.

Truth be told, I bet most of the people who overrate him never watched him fight before. I just assumed they listened to Bob Arum's articles that he was suppose to fight Pacquiao. So they just assumed he's an A-list fighter.

In all honesty I don't respect Valero as a man, he pulled a murder suicide, there is no plus side to that. As a fighter though I respect him, but not to the point where I'd have to make fantasies up. Give the respect where it's due. People are treating Valero like he was the 2nd coming of Salvador Sanchez. It's kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

Well, he was kicked out of Oscars training camp when facing pacquiao because they said he couldn't handle the power.

Valero also KO' one of Pacquiao's regular sparring partners, they had to stop the sparring since the guy was hurt really bad.

He WAS going in the right direction, regarding his boxing career.

That was absolutely repulsive and showed how idiocy and the value of a boxrec record prevails on this site.
