Are Mexicans seriously trying to act like Abnutts is a champ!??

Do they have TVs in Los Angeles slums... or did you geniuses "watch" the fight on the radio??

Can we get a few TVs shipped to Mexico asap?

Watching boxing on a radio is not the same.

Abnut Mares "winning" the title makes boxing look like an abused, ******, cracked-out $2 Mexican street whore.

Even the IBF president thinks so!

"[The IBF] observed several low blow fouls committed by Abner Mares. While the referee, Russell Mora, issued numerous warnings for low blows during the course of the bout, he neglected to deduct points for these fouls. With 1:03 left in round eleven, Joseph Agbeko was hit with a low blow foul that forced him to the canvas. Mr. Mora determined that the blow landed by Mares was legal and began to count indicating that a knockdown had occurred. Based upon our review of the bout, it has been determined by the IBF that inappropriate conduct by the referee affected the outcome of the fight," wrote IBF president Daryl Peoples.

Even if that last point taken away he still would of won, the fight wasnt even close, so deal with it.

Been following his career since day 1 and finally seeing him become a world champion makes me happy azz ***, so happy that im gonna drink and smoke in his honor, ABNER MARES BABY #1 *** YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a 4 point swing genius, and it was not just a point. Agbeko was winning the 11th, and if a point was deducted from Mares for that obvious low blow, the 11th would have been 10-8 for Agbeko instead of 10-8 for Mares. Plus the scorecards after the fight would have been, 117-111 Agbeko, 113-113 (twice) for a majority draw. Imagine if a point was taken away from Mares for his low blows in the earlier rounds, it will be a UD for KingKong.

Are you really a boxing fan? Or just a "Love my own" fan?

Mares turned this into a **** fight, I won't considered him champion until he beats Agbeko fair and square, with an honest referee. I do think he'll beat him, but not until the rematch happens I'll call him the IBF Champ.

One problem, he is not. Doesn't even make the no.2 spot, should not even be no.3 IMO.

Honestly, I think the low blows really tainted a great performance by Mares and Agbeko. I thought Mares was winning the fight with his boxing but unfortunately the low blows happened.

I don't think he was hurting Agbeko with the low shots, so I don't think they were as much of an issue as some think but he should have had points taken away regardless.

Bad job by the ref and this one is a fight he won't live down.

You're a moron. With a honest referee (who penalize Mares minimum by 2 points) Mares lost that fight. The 11th round should have been 10-8 for Agbeko plus anoter point deduction and we have Agbeko up by one point... mathematics is not an opinion

Without the two BS Knockdown calls (in the 1st & the 11th) that fight is a draw, and with a point appropriately taken away from Mares for ridiculously excessive low blows, Agbeko wins by a point. So deal with that. Yes, Mares is a nice young kid, and a good fighter, but he did himself no favors after the fight when he defended the ref's performance and claimed he never hit Agbeko low.
