    Lack of promotion for Floyd/Ortiz?

With just about a month till fight night, outside the few boxing sites I visit, I have yet to see real sort of promotion campaign for this fight. I recall GBP stating how this is going to be their biggest promoted fight ever. Really? Floyd/Oscar and Floyd/Hatton had a much bigger promotional campaign behind it.

I constantly hear about how it takes 3 months to properly promote a fight, but that doesnt seem to be the case here. Lets hope they step it up. Im excited to see how this fight plays out.

Yes but the general public/casual fans need to know he's coming back.

its not the fight we want

ortiz doesn't draw- only boxing fans know he's dangerous

everyone else doesn't wanna know- they want pacquiao

            Sigh.

Setting up the deals with the networks. Making sure you pick a date that doesn't conflict with other events, locking down logistics of venue, travel, camp, etc.

Security, broadcast talent, production of Face/Offs and 24/7's, etc, etc.

Negotiation of deals with corporate sponsors, negotiation of site fees with venues, etc

            Camp alone takes 8 weeks.

It does't need much promotion. floyd mayweather, hbo's 24/7 series and the fact that the fights on hbo ppv is enough. Hbo has over 20 million subscribers so all they need is 1 percent of their subscribers to order the fight and wuala, their goes your 1 million ppv sales. And then you all can talk about how successfull the ppv was, and how great the numbers were blah blah blah etc.

Which is exactly why I bet this wouldn't do a million. 3 Months to promote a super fight? Comon man. They don't even have the commercial for the fight yet.

People will tune in for Floyd, and that's pretty much it.
