His best performance was against the ATG and future HOF'er Tito Trinidad.

It was a clean sweap 120-108 style.

Trinidad landed maybe 2 punches the whole fight. It was crazy.

His defense is a misconception. He went through most of his career without the peekaboo style. See my previous post on the other thread

But Winky was more than just catching punches off his arms. He had head movement behind his guard as well and a damn good parry. Remember, his shell was something new. He scaled the ropes prior to the vargas fight. It was that fight that landed him the State Property deal (they made his attire, only boxer to sport state prop, too) and he kept that style since then in order to get big fights. he figure it would create exciting fights and get him some pay days if he stood in the pocket more.

He could do it all, watch some early Wright footage.

To be exact, watch the McKart fights. the first fight was with his traditional style, text book stance - big arsenal. He won a Split Decision. The second fight was DIRECTLy after the Vargas fight and you can see the subtle style change. The THIRD fight he had already adopted the new style now, 3 fights removed from the second bout.. and he's shelling up.

        Before Vargas, vs McKart

After State Prop deal, vowing to pressure fighters and make exciting fights.

For his best performance, It's easily against Tito. His best fights? You can pick quite a few, since the vargas fight and vowing to be "exciting" he made a lot of great fights. His fight with Jermaine Taylor was an incredible one, highly recommended. The Vargas fight is non stop action, both mosley fights are great watches. I personally enjoy fights 2 and 3 in the McKart trilogy (the first fight he uses hsi bike FAR too much.. but that was his style at the time, 2 and 3 were after the style switch).

My personal favorite performance of his is probably against Papillion. I have a TON of wright fights on my drive - I'll upload that one since it isn't on youtube. Will reply again n about 20 minutes when it's uploaded.

He was also a huge favorite and got ****** buzz in the media during the build up. Write had a tougher time with that big in grown hair on his neck than he did with Tito. I remember that thing looked nasty.

but seriously he had some good fights against a good level of opponents. the taylor fight was really good, a fight he should have won imo. the vargas fight was a growth fight, a fight where u can see a fighter grow rite before your eyes. the mc cart fights were all good fights. the quartey fight was a clear domination as well. my favorites were the mosely fights. poor shane just got manhandled. shane was game tho. props to him.

Considering what B-hop has accomplished, I don't think so. Tito was coming off a solid win against Mayorga who wasn't to far from his KO over Vernon Forrest.

Winky was very very solid. Unfortunately, according to some people it's "to early" to give him his just due on defense. Give it 20 years or so and he will be defensively mentioned with Mayweather and Whitaker.

Also, keep in mind, a lot of fighters ducked Winky (i.e ODLH). Had they not ducked him who knows what he could've accomplished. Thank God for the Shane Mosley mentality because if Shane didn't give Winky a shot, you would've never seen Winky vs Tito, Taylor, Hopkins, ect...
