The ironic thing about this fight is that I think Tua would've gotten a more favorable decision from the judges had the fight taken place in the U.S. His aggression from round 7 onwards in my opinion was not rewarded as much it should've been. He also landed more power punches than Barrett did. Still, Tua blew his opportunities to finish him off when he had the chance. How he allowed Barrett to stay on his feet after that knockdown was just unacceptable. I don't think this is necessarily the end for Tua. He may not ever get a title shot but he still has a couple of good fights left in him. He just needs to find opponents who match up better for him. I'd still like to see him try to take on a Chris Arreola. I wouldn't bother with a 3rd Barrett fight. Heck I thought even this rematch was a bad idea but Tua will likely try to convince Monte to make it a trilogy.

The thing I couldn't stand about the ref was the amount of clinching that was allowed. It's bloody rediculous nowadays and refs just aren't punishing repeat offenders. It gives a huge amount of advantage to taller fighters and it also has caused the lack of inside fighting in boxing in recent times.

Thats a good match-up, risky for Arreola tho. It would be one of the most entertaining heavyweight fights in awhile probably.

I agree. After watching this last Tua fight, I think there should a 12th round rule where a fighter cannot milk the clock by holding and clinching. The clock should stop as soon as that happens and start again when the ref breaks it up.

or give early warning and if he continues DQ the cxnt. seriously i hate it so much, it's frickin ruining the game. Boxer arean't allowed to clinch when they're hurt, but yet they do it and it goes unpenallised, ur only surpose to hold if ur tired. for example see the way that Gayweather held like a b!tch after Mosley clocked him with one of his rights.

The refs really need to cut down on excessive holding. Whether it's Barrett doing it or Wladimir Klitschko it's bogging down the action in a lot of fights.

I don't mind a guy that is hurt holding on to clear his head, but hugging and holding as a strategy for an entire bout is different and should be stopped.

David didn't start fighting until round 6 or 7. He lost the fight for himself.

He said he'd continue fighting, but he should retire. Barrett is a C level fighter, if you can't beat him, you need to retire.

Barrett is on and off,on any given night he can fight at the top level,he also can lose to Journeymen my boy Cliff Couser koed him.

Tua's career as a relevant heavyweight ended years ago -- fighting and losing to the likes of Barrett isn't going to revive it.
