  • I'm Putting $10,000+ on Mayweather vs Ortiz

If the betting odds are 8-1 for Mayweather, how much profit will I get for putting $10,000 on Mayweather?

Also, how much do I need to put down to make a $10,000 profit?

This is my first time betting so I am new to how the odds work.

    Help needed. Thanks in advance.

That wouldn't be very genius of you. You'd be risking $10,000 to make about $1,200. Put your money on the over/under.

And it would take you risking $80,000 to make $10,000.

Floyd isn't 8-1 anymore. He's 6.5-1. If I were you I'd take the over to go to decision. Which is at -140.

        You're saying put $10 g's on Ortiz?

        Not sure what over/under is.

I play blackjack; never gambled on a fight before.

I did read up on it enough to know that the + is for the underdog and - is for the favorite.

I think -140 means I would have to put up 140 to make 100?

10 k for your first bet does not make sense to me unless your completely loaded.

If you have to come to us to ask, you probably shouldn't be betting 10,000$.

If I was betting 10 g's I would have my mind made up, just saying.

No, it's a more of a Mayweather thing than anything.

Him and Vitali are the closest things to as sure as it gets.
