  • It's not over for Berto, he can still be a champ and p4p boxer

1 decision loss to a good fighter in which he fought his ASS off does not make berto a bum. Now he's tasted defeat. He's seen it all now, even been dropped on the canvas. It can't really get much worse.

If berto drops the wannabe mayweather act, starts training hard and gets that hunger back I believe he can be a star. From what I hear, he's doing the opposite. Getting tats, partying his money away, moderate drug use etc but if he gets his life together he can still make a big impact in boxing.

He's got tons of potential... but if you lose you're shot,an overhyped bum,and damaged goods on this board.

If the boxing media can turn that rat eating 3 KO loss bum pacquaio into a superstar i'm sure they could resurrect berto's career. He just needs to string up a few B level wins

Berto has only faced decent competition twice and lost both times. Yes, he did lose to Collazo. I know Berto fancies himself as another Mayweather, but all he's fought is bums. Al Hayman has given Berto a golden highway filled with HBO dates, easy fights, and big paydays. Of course he can't handle tough opposition. If Berto could last more than 5 rounds with Pacquiao I'd be shocked.

I think berto has that natural gifted ability to be a 3 division champ, but the outside influences damage his career.

How hard was he really training for ortiz? I hear lots of bad stories about who he rolls with down here in miami. Even worse for gamboa but that's a different story.

I'll say this,Berto is talented but very flawed..Reminds me of Alexander he needs a new trainer and he needs to plug those holes up..A lot of talented fighters rely on their talent and don't focus on the technical parts of boxing..That's what I see in Berto and Alexander, they won't do it by talent alone..If he is not working hard to plug those holes in his game he will lose his next fight count on that..Zaveck is no bum..

yeah berto definitely needs to get a new trainer and next time he shouldn't have his brother in the corner spewing crap advice.

One problem, Berto was never a top fighter.

He is a good figher like you said, but not world class, will not only get found out at the highest level will also get found out at the level bellow that.

The guys is 27-28 now, too late for him.
