Castillo-Corrales II PPV numbers lower than expected!
    By G. Leon

October 12, 2005 - Although the exact number has yet to be released, impeccable sources have informed **********.com that the Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo Showtime PPV generated 75,000-100,000 homes less than the 350,000 homes Showtime was expecting. There will be much more to follow later today so stay tuned to our front page for all the latest. (11:25 AM EST)

Another example of how most people have LOUSY taste.

This fight had some great word of mouth.....I though it would have sold better.
Perhaps those passing on the good words should have thrown in how Corrales once hit his pregnant wife ? Maybe that would have given it the Tyson-effect ?

100K PPV buys is disgusting, insulting, and disheartening considering that Roy Jones and Toney Tarver got 405K.

            What a ****ing joke!

I hold Jones and Tarver directly responsible, they ripped off fight fans so bad the week before that there was no way most were about to shell out another $50.

Thanks alot Toney and Roy, you both owe Chico and Castillo a couple hundred grand each!

It said 75k-100k less PPV buys than the 350k expected.

That means about 250k bought. Its not that bad.

That means that the fight lost money. If their analysts predicted that number than they paid the fighters and promoted the event according to their predictions. Being 100k off is huge money wise. So its very bad man. They lost money on the event.
