This is great for boxing but bad for CNN's long term credibility. They should have the word "Advertisement" somewhere on the screen. CNN is the most fair and balanced news organization in America, it's a shame that they're going to be peddling a PPV event disguised as a documentary. Watch Fox News capitalize on this.

What does Golden Boy know about family
About Family in Boxing and the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs that other dude....The thing about this whole take on promotions is just a joke... Star vs Power ? I mean really who came up with that ****?... The issue about Victor and over coming adversity is bull**** How can Golden Boy actually pretend that they give a crap about Ortiz... Lets break it down... Floyd Mayweather His father His Uncle His Cousin His sons Everything about Floyd Mayweather is Boxing and every top fighters takes pride in any amout of time spent training with Uncle Roger...So i get that part... But....Ortiz is nothing He has no pedigree in boxing... He is an Orphaned little mutt... A nobody... Victor Ortiz has rubbed me the wrong way for a reason and I will not sit silent while my son goes without a father.... Oscar De La Hoya has a son named Devon and in 12 years Oscar has yet to be a father to Devon... Then someone leaves the back door open After they toss out Oscars son... They let in a mutt... A nobody... A throw-a-way little liar that back-stabs everyone whos tried to help him... You got a problem with me Take it up with Golden Boy Because Im tired of seeing my sons father kissing all over someones trash they didnt want while Oscars real son sits waiting on that same attention... As far as im concerned Victor Ortiz has stolen my sons position in his fathers life and this momma is pissed.... Family my ass... Ortiz has no family and soon Oscar wont either if Schaefer has his way about it.... Mayweather I pray to God you dont let that little mutt be your first loss There is nothing more in the world needed right now than to send that little brat back where he came from.... Bye Bye Ortiz is not family and he has no family... Lets get that straight right now!!! Oh im pissed... Yes Sr I am...Comment

I kinda doubt the extra exposure will do a ton to get more buys, but it definitely won't hurt. The numbers for Floyd-Ortiz should be good - yet another reason why it's so weak that Floyd fights as seldom as he does and retires as often as he does.Comment

So I'm still not clear on this...both the Pac-JMM and Floyd-Ortiz 24/7s are going to air on CNN?
Hmm lets see, we have 2 Americans on one series...we have 2 foreigners on the other...this isn't even a fair fight.
We have have Victor Ortiz who is pretty much a wholesome Kansas boy and Floyd who is a stereotypical black guy. The blue hairs are going to gobble that ethnic **** up...all 5 that are actually watching it.
On the other hand you have an asian in Pacquiao (who can barely be considered to speak English) fighting a real Mexican who drinks his own pee and also barely speaks English.
Bottom line: Boxing doesn't belong on CNN.Comment

I said it before, I'll say it again- 24/7 being on CNN is random as ****. But now finding out it's going to be on at midnight only makes it a waste.
Wouldn't it make more sense to air the program just before mlb games or (for pac-jmm) nba games on tnt and tbs? Doing profile or interviews on a primetime show on cnn makes sense, but how does airing a 24/7 at midnight benefit anyone?
Are you serious 12 midnight is da perfect time aimed at males 15-47 women 25-44.... Late night talk shows will take a hit the days this airs,, the world is curious and wants to know more about boxing...Comment

It isnt boxing its an innovative Emmy award-winning series that chronicles the lives of two boxers training and leading to there fight....So I'm still not clear on this...both the Pac-JMM and Floyd-Ortiz 24/7s are going to air on CNN?

I love 24/7...but I also post on BoxingScene, so I might be a bit biased.
Put it this way, would more people want to see this year's Hard Knocks on CNN (if we are even getting one this year, not sure...can't be ****ed to google it) or would they rather watch 24/7...viewership numbers alone would say Hard Knocks. What we are seeing now is "good old boy" politics at work...the people with vested interests in boxing have ties running so deep through organized crime, network/cable television, and even more shady things. This is network owners owing favors to one another. The rich get richer.Comment
