go ahead and name 1 fighter in the entire history of boxing that LOST to another fighter w/ 33 losses............but then suddenly became an elite in his mid-30's.

He didn't lose to that guy w/ 33 losses...it was a draw and then Sergio beat him a couple months after. It was early in both of their career. Anything can happen in 4 rounds when they fought to a draw... They fought a 6 rounder the next fight and Sergio won.

Sergio started boxing at age 21 and has been learning on the job ever since. Improving every year. Sergios first 20 fights was his amateur career. To discredit a guy who trains like a dog and pleases our eyes with his unique and crowd pleasing boxing skills is just beyond me.

Can somebody translate exactly what Angulo is saying? Because Vanes has publicly come out right here on Boxing Scene and expressed his willingness to fight anywhere, even mentioning concrete locations like Mexico, Canada, or Armenia. To me if all El Perro is saying is that "Yeah, I'll fight him" that doesn't mean much. Fighters say that all the time but 50% of those fights never materialize. Both Vanes and Angulo need to start actively working on this fight, and that includes first and foremost sitting down and deciding on the location. What's Angulo's promoter situation anyway? That may make things difficult especially with Vanes being under the Top Rank umbrella of in-house fighting.

What’s your immigration situation?

The initial problem was that my visa was not renewed on time.

Why was your visa not renewed?

My promoter (Gary shaw) was my petitioner and he had to renew my visa and he did not. I had to do it personally. I had to get my own lawyers. My VISA has been processed and approved. It’s just a matter of time that I get it. We are just waiting on it.

Did your promoter sabotage your visa status because of a problem with you?

To this day I do not know what problem Gary had with me. I haven’t talked to him in a year.

Did he ignore/part ways with you?

He has not fought me in a year. He basically told all the promoters and ppl that could of helped me get a fight that he was my owner. Sincerely, Nobody is no ones owner. I had a contract with him that supposedly has expired and we are still working on that. He argued that their was no fights for me which is not true. I got a lawyer by the name of LUCY ARROW? She helped me out and I got offers to fight in Europe and Asia. All Gary had to do is sign a letter where he authorized me to fight.

I had no choice but to start my own promotional company and promote myself. I had no choice to that because Gary was threatening all other promoters that wanted to put me on their shows.

This will be a though matchup for Alvarez. Gomez is a solid fighter and his style will give Alvarez problems.

HAHA…What can I tell you. I never like to talk about opponents or of who I want to face. It does not matter who I face weather its Chavez, Alvarez, Martinez or Vanes. All I’m looking for is a good opponent to give a good show to the people.

I believe Angulo should prove himself at 154 where he’s ranked and where an important matchup with Vanes is coming up. Then maybe he can move up to 160 and challenge Chavez jr. I don’t know what Angulo has to say about facing Chavez Jr.

_ANGULO_- I talked to Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. in Mexicali, and he said a fight between his son and myself is a possibility. I told him it would be an honor to fight the son of a legend. I told him it would be a great battle like it has been in the past between two Mexican warriors.

How would you analyze Chavez jr as a boxer?

Both Canelo and Jr are young fighters that are still learning. They were given opportunities to fast. Instead of helping them I think they have been hurting them because once your champion you have to face the best. They have to demonstrate that they are #1 for a reason.

Vanes is good and you guys might meet later on in your careers for a world title fight. Not now because this is an Eliminator.

Vanes is a good fighter. He was in the U.S Olympic team. I was in the Mexican team. We both went to the same Olympics. It would be a good match up between Vanes and myself because of our records and because we both have great conditioning.
