But without the penalty's, Why didn't Manny give Margarito that penalty??? Because they know Margarito was a clumsy, unprime bum.
pac vs sergio, at 154..same day weigh in, like the old times..

if manny fights sergio on sergios terms.....
and wins.....
then manny looks allot better...
i rather have a fighter i like loose on an even playing field than win with an unfair advantage....
i am a Pacquaio fan but i try to be realistic.Comment

Yes...But, you gotta remember also that when they made this move. There were less divisions. There was no SMW division for example.i think they made it a day later because fighters were draining themselfs to make the same day limit....
but they gave them an extra day and they just cut more now...
i like it...
guys who fight at 135 would probably be welters cause they woulndt be able to cut as much in one day so fighters would actually weigh what the limit says....
and a guy like sergio would probably be a lhw or 168 if he had to fight the same day he weighed in...
he woulndt be able to make 154 same day.
So a fighter who should have been fight at SMW but couldn't because it didn't exist yet. Either had to be in a size disadvantage at LHW or drain themselves to make MW. Which was unhealthy.
But, now that we have so many weight-divisions. So many Jr and Super divisions. That many fighters can fight at a weight-class they belong in without draining themselves.
Like you mentioned Martinez now can fight at SMW on same day weigh-in. But, when the rule was change back then there was no SMW so either he had to be weight drained to make MW or be in a disadvantage by being at LHW.
So now with all these divisions. I don't see any medical danger in having it. Because, there would be no reason to drain yourself.Comment

Everybody from JMW on down fears Sergio. There's no denying that.
But, really Larry what would be wrong if Pac fought Sergio at 160 in Philadelphia next? PSAC still goes by the same day weigh-in rule. Would you be against this?Last edited by jrosales13; 08-09-2011, 12:01 AM.Comment

so u think all the weight classes are fin jsut ad same day....
