you are thinking of JAILS, they different than prisons, prison is for the big time criminals doing hard time, of course they going to **** men when they in for that long and there is nothing else ...jail is a 24/7 mind game from everyone, you can think prison is a carnival playland all you want, if you went you would change your tune on what you thought of it...Comment

Aaah ok, I thought it might be something like that.I think you're right, that ALL present and involved in a crime are adjudges as being guilty. But with the slimy kind of lawyers we have, whose only aim is to subvert real justice (never mind that they say that all are entitled to be regarded as innocent) you'll find that the ones who were lesser involved, probably like the third criminal, will be plea bargained for a lesser sentence.
And yet, There is something very cruel about the American Justice System. I know of people still in jail after 40 or more years, virtually their whole lives, for little more than common thievery. I have read books on the subject, and, law abiding as I am, and believing in just retribution, I have been horrified at the stories I have come across.
I suppose that because of the hodge-podge of "different State-different penalty" mish-mash we can find that a misdemeanor in one State is a very serious heaviy penalised crime in another. Are there not people still sitting in gaol in California ( think) for the past 20 years or so, because of that "3 strikes-you're out" Law and who will be there until they die, even though their crimes may have been really trifling??
Ish't it in a poem by Robert Burns which I read as a schoolchild, where it's written about "man's inhumanity to man"....??
US law can be damn confusing sometimes.Comment
