Does it matter where Ortiz was then? I mean he upset an undefeated champion in his 1st appearance at the weight. I understand if people say Berto wasn't great, but he was favored. Ortiz got up off the canvas to win. I mean doesn't your accomplishments in the ring count more than biased fan opinion?

Floyd was likely there for Berto, who couldn't handle the pressure. Ortiz proved he is a good fighter. IS he great of course not. But you are only as good as your last fight. Ortiz showed he is a good fighter.

Yes it does matter because it seems a few are just building up Ortiz because he is fighting Mayweather.

I thought Ortiz was talented but didnt have it in the chest. I picked Berto to beat him but he proved me and a lot of others wrong. Ortiz was a monster that night and determined to win, I saw it in his face when the fighters were being announced. That Ortiz would've beaten anybody (except Floyd) from 140-147 that night. He did the same thing Martinez did. Martinez today is not the Martinez who loss to Margarito neither is this the Ortiz that loss to Maidana.

No from my point of view Floyd is taking the challenges that Manny wont take. From my point of view Floyd is beating hot, streaking fighters while Manny is looking for advantages over fighters that were coming off of big defeats. Con showed us nothing against Zab but that Zab is done. There wouldnt even be betting odds in a PBF/Con fight cause Floyd would destroy the big mouth and I would love to see him go over to the UK and humiliate Con cause thats just what he will do to him.

I think you and other non floyd fans are running with that when it isn't true. Floyd fans are not making Ortiz out to be anyhting but a live underdog.

What matters more in rating a boxer, what he accomplished in the ring or where the media and fans rate them? Victor did beat an undefeated (and maybe overrated) champion in his 1st fight at 147. Usually when a fighter accomplishes something like this he gets accolades.

Why is it when floyds opponents accomplish something we only discuss the media/fan opinions? When discussing other fighters opponents we then talk about what they did in the ring. Doesn't seem equal.
