Career Killers: Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao

With Pavlik's recent troubles in and out the ring, his fall from grace can be directly traced back to his crushing loss at the hands of Bernard Hopkins.

Ricky Hatton's admitted battle with depression.

    Oscar's recent substance abuse struggles.

    Mosley.

All can be categorized (with the help of Pacquiao) as examples of fighters who Mayweather has shipped "over-the-hill" never to be the same again.

Of course there are exceptions but definitely, after facing fighters such as Hopkins, Mayweather or Pacquiao, there stands a possibility the boxer will never be the same mentally or physically.

Pacquiao is by far the most extreme example starting with the David Diaz fight where he became a beast. He ended Hatton and DLH's career, probably will end Mosley's career, Clottey hasn't fought since, Margarito may only have one fight left in him. Cotto is the only one to achieve a measure of success after fighting Pac since his move up to lightweight and even Cotto seems a little long in the tooth judging by the Mayorga fight.

castillo retired floyd from fighting elite fighters. now floyd is just a shell of himself fighting b level guys or guys who just scored big upset wins over elite fighters but of course never the elite fighters themselves. floyd must adhere to the if you beat a legend you become a legend mindset.

Floyd and Hopkins never truly beaten their opponent than Pacquiao did. They may won their fight in one sided fashion but none of them like Pac did to his opponents who beat them to the pulp in every second, in every round.

Proves how special Juan Manuel Marquez is. Hope it holds true through Pac-Marquez 3

Kind of hard to include Mayweather in this when he is fighting these guys when they are past their prime.

is thats true what you're saying then duckqiao is a bigger loser than mayweather..after all mayweather gave him 3 leftovers..and cotto got smashed by marga was never the same guy again then pac fought him the same with marga..marga is not good without his plaster and after shane damaged him pac had his turn...you see pac is only fighting shells who used to be somebody back in the days.
