Did MAYWEATHER get a $40 Million Guarantee to Fight Victor Ortiz?

Rumor is that Floyd is getting a guaranteed $40 million to fight Victor Ortiz,

This is pending verification with NSAC.

But here are some confirmed figures:

    Previous Mayweather guaranteed fight purses:

    vs. Mosley: $22.5 million
    vs. Hatton: $11 million
    vs. Marquez: $10 million
    vs. DelaHoya: $10 million
    Vs. Baldomir: $8 million
    vs. Gatti: $3.2 million
    vs. Judah: $5 million
    ..................................
The following numbers may have been part of Floyd's six-fight, $15 million contract with HBO:
    vs. Castillo 2: $2.4 million
    vs Castillo 1: $2.2 million
    vs Corrales: $1.7 million

    Previous Pacquiao guaranteed fight purses*:

    vs. Mosley: $6 million
    vs. Cotto: $7.5 million
    vs Hatton: $7.4 million
    vs. DelaHoya: $6.6 million
    vs Morales 1: $1.75 million

*These are not the Bob Arum fantasy figures. These are confirmed NSAC contract figures. Margarito and Clottey purses unavailable because Texas doesn't make contracts available to the public.

what makes you say that? mosley had a huge push and the numbers were really good at 1.6m ppv buys (despite them saying the old 3m buy thing to make themselves look foolish)

the mayweather and ortiz fight wont at all do as much as mosley and mayweather which had great hype

40m guarantee is just nut huggers talking gino, it will be the same if not less than what he got vs mosley for his guarantee

also I love how you make up figures with no evidence, especially with pac a guy who obviously bullied you as a child

he got a 20m guarantee vs mosley, was confirmed on live tv

I saw several articles that said Floyd got G'd up for forty large to fight Ortiz.

      unconfirmed.

Although not confirmed, multiple sources are reporting that five division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is going to receive a guarantee of $40 million dollars to face WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz on September 17, likely at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The financial figure is being spread like a forest fire behind closed doors in the boxing industry. The number is astronomical, with Mayweather obviously receiving the bulk of the money involved with the promotion. The Mayweather, who co-promotes the HBO pay-per-view event with Golden Boy Promotions, will be crossing his fingers to receive a record buyrate figure to make the show a huge financial success.

Pacquiao got $5 million to fight Mosley. That is on the NSAC contract.

He's getting overpaid if its true. **** like that will prevent Floyd/Pacquiao from happening if he is getting paid 40 million to fight Ortiz.

Dunno man, btw I read up on the pac thing, he got a minimum of 20m

It may be that floyd is guaranteed like 25-28m but I remember floyd claiming he was going to make 40m vs mosley as well remember, his minimum was 22.5m

it just wont happen, for floyd to get a 40m minimum, it would be against pacman only

Dan Rafael of ESPN via Bloody Elbow tweeted the purse info for Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosley fight and its undercard bouts. Here's the info:

                  Purses for Saturday's undercard: Pavlik $270K, Lopez $40K, Vazquez $165K, Arce $125K, Alvarado $50K, Narh $22,500.

Mosley's official purse on the Nevada contract is $3.950 million, although he is guaranteed $5 million.

Pacquiao's official purse is $6 million on the Nevada contract but he is guaranteed $20 million from by Top Rank because of PPV.

on google manny pac purse for pac comes up like with that always or 20m guarantee

either way the guy got 20m minimum plus ppv share so not 6m
