they aren't boxers, it's a mixed fighting sport, so if your opponent has glaring holes in his game (like no ground game) than you can use it against him.

Or something like this could have happened:

it could have been worse for him
Yeah , Couture could have fncked him up real bad if he really wanted too.

Too bad when Mercer fought Klitschko he was already in his 40's, would have been a good fight in his prime.

Hotsoup you are severely off. Cutthroat, you are right. Tony is 5'9" at 230 pounds of fat, Coutoure is about 6'1" and in very good shape. Couture had all the physical advantages and was playing his own game. Dana White made that fight because it would make MMA look good vs boxing. It was a low risk fight for Coutoure, Toney does not even have much of a punchers chance at that weight. That fight meant absolutely nothing.

Ray Mercer was about the same age Vitali Klitschko is now when he fought Wlad.

...and Mercer was coming off a 7 fight winning streak (7-0, 6 KOs) since the very close decision loss to Lennox Lewis. He was in great shape for the Wlad fight, weighed 228 lbs, 10 lbs lighter than he was for the Lennox fight when he weighed 238 lbs.

There are 30-40+ guys in boxing who are currently fighting who have made over 1mill in a fight. Theres like 2 or 3 in mma.
