This is what you call "The Pacquiao Factor". Even sports writers knows that every time they cover a story about the great Manny Pacquiao it will be a big hit in the stands. People like to hear stories about a person who likes to make other people happy. Just like what the Pacman always say "Nothing personal, I am just doing my job to make people happy". People will always be a follower of Pacquiao. They do not care who he fights, they just enjoy watching him fighting in the ring. This was proven with his latest fight with Mosley, that was the first time Showtime got involved with a Manny Pacquiao event and that first time sold 1.4 millions PPV.

Why do these so-called boxing journalists write promotional crap like this and pass it off as legimitate unbiased news stories? I have a degree in journalism and was a legitimate newspaper journalist for six years. Under no circumstances would we ever take the word of a biased source as fact. The idiot who wrote this story is repeating the lie that Arum has been telling gullible people for three months -- namely that the Pacquaio/Mosley fight sold 1.3 million PPVs. To this day, three months later, Showtime still has not released the PPV numbers for that fight. Anytime in the past when a network refused to release the PPV numbers for a boxing match, that meant that the numbers were so poor that the network or promoter was too embarrassed to release the numbers. There is no way in hell Pacquaio/Mosley sold 1.3 million PPVs. Before repeating this lie, this journalist should have contacted Showtime to request the real numbers. If they refused to release them, he should have indicated that in the story and then said the numbers being quoted came from the promoter and could not be confirmed. That is what a legitimate journalist would have done or his editor would have never allowed that information to be included in the story.Comment

Yeah, right! All the *******s are going to be shocked when HBO releases the numbers and they discover that this fight only sells 700 to 800,000 PPVs at the most. They will all be shocked and wonder how Pac/Mosley could sell 1.3 million when Pac/Marquez only sells 700,000. Then a collective lightbulb will go off in all of your heads when you realize that Bob "I was lying yesterday; today I am telling the truth" Arum was lying about the numbers for Pac/Mosley, just as he has lied about everything for the last two years.Comment

lol either youre lying or just plain delusional.....
the fight is back on hbo for very simple reason
-better productions
-better commentators ( that are known to casual fans)
-they can air the first two fights with no problems
also they went back to hbo cause the move to showtime was an epic failure, lets not act like the ratings for fight camp 360 were not some of the worst that network ever had.....Comment

Among the promoters out there, they all lie. The most trustworthy among these promoterrs is Bob Arum, at least he speaks out half the truth.Comment

Wow! Look at *****s still trying to downgrade Pac's drawing power. The mere fact that Greenburg was fired for losing Pac to Showtime is enough proof that HBO knows which side of the bread is buttered.
Just pray that Floyd-Vic does more than 1M buys, or else your boy will lose any bragging rights he may still have.Comment
