That is also a really good argument, but unlike everyone else on the list Canelo has had more fights at the weight. There will always be ways to skew the rankings though, honestly.

If we go through the list, technically, Dizzy should be the Number 1 ranked 154 fighter in the world having been there the duration of his career, being the longest reigning champion and having not lost there.

But it's just one of those things, ya know. Cotto only has Foreman and Mayorga under his belt there and then that same Foreman goes on to get beaten on bad by Wolak, so it asks how good was Foreman for Cotto to be praise for winning the belt.. and was Santos that past it when Foreman beat him?

There's so many what ifs in boxing, especially at 154. I think Canelo is a fair number 2 though regardless of who he's fault. To be fair, the people i mentioned on my top 10 are actually the only guys Canelo can fight at this point and time to be considered "stepping up" and he isn't the only 1 not fighting those fights.. they also aren't fighting each other until recently.

After Gomez, we'll see what he does. Molina/Lara fought, Cintron/Williams fought, William/Lara fought, and Cintron/Molina fought. Cotto Margy is happening, and Cintron/Angulo took place (He IMO shouldn't be anywhere near a list yet, he's been inactive longer than Kirkland and we've seen what happened to kirkland when he returned, he's just a question mark right now)

      I'm rambling, my bad.

But I still have no problem with Canelo being number 2 at the weight. Dizzy would have an argument being it's a weight he's been at longer than anyone but he's so inactive whilst other fighters on the list (lara and molina for example) have actually fought 2 or 3 of the guys ranked within the top 10 there in the last year.

          1 cotto
          2 canelo
          3 williams
          4 angulo
          5 margarito
          6 vanes

if there was a super six for them i think canelo would be the lone survivor
