Not really. The bottomline is entertainment. Ivan calderon has been the most skilled fighter in boxing for years aside from maybe floyd. And yet how many times has his fights been aired??? Compared to guys like madaina and katsidis who will continue to get tv coverage and title shots no matter how many fights they lose because fans pay to watch entertaining fighters.

Are we talking about TV coverage or getting paid? As far as I know, Ivan Calderon has done pretty well for himself despite his lack of TV coverage. And speaking of Floyd, he's widely considered the most skilled boxer today and he also makes the most money. And to say that Maidana and Katsidis don't have any skills is just silly. You don't get as far as they do and not have any skills.

You also said that Berto isnt skilled....by definition, any boxer you makes it to the world level is skilled, its all relative......

In order to pay the bills, you need money..........to get money, you need to apply skills to recieve the money, no matter how "skilled" you believe that deed to be ...i.e a **** star, hustler on the road........

Last time I checked I couldnt pay my mortgage with "Skills" and when paying at a store there isnt a payment method called "Skills"

You can be the most skilled person in the world but if you sitting on your couch you will be broke and poor.

Skills dont pay for ****. You know what pay's the bills? Having a job and dedication.

"Sir, you are 3 months late on your mortgage"
"Well, let me pay with my skills, cuz you know, Skills pay the bills"

There are alot of ****** mofo's who HAVE no skills but are still millionaires and rich, why? They were born into it, got lucky, married into it. Look at Fortune 500 and the number of idiots working there, they have no skills.


Why are so many people having this phrase in their signature? Its the dumbest phrase ever invented,

How many skilled people are broke and homeless? I guess their bank doesn't take "Skills" as payment.

Im talking about both because tv coverage opens doors to bigger paydays but noone will wanna tune in to snoozefests regardless of how talented a fighter may be.

Neither madaina or katsidis are more talented than the elite of their divisions let alone more skilled than calderon and yet they earn bigger purses than the more skilled fighters that beat them. And still get invited back to fight on hbo regardless of the losses because they are fan favorites.

A more pertinent example would be that whitaker may have been far more skilled than chavez but chavez earned more in his career.
