He is only ranked by the IBF at #6 and that is at Super Middleweight. To pass up this opportunity with a $1.35 million dollar purse on the table and a belt seems more like the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz than the King of the Jungle that Quillin claimed to be. He may just have to wear brown trunks with yellow stripes for his next fight to match the stripe on his spine.

Sounds like your losing faith in someone you seemed to think very highly of. That doesnt sound like a good fan to me, Quillin wants to go for a belt at 160 first then I really dont see a big deal. Everyone wants a chance to be a multiple division champ nowadays it seems to bring in more money in the long run. Why would Quillin jump into the ring with Lucian Bute when he hasnt even fought anyone on the same level as Bute.

I dont see your logic in saying he passed up a big payday, because when he loses against Bute (This would happen without a doubt Bute is too much for Quillin ATM maybe in a few years but not now) his fire will fade and his unbeaten marketability will disappear as well. He has the chance to win a belt build up a name and then eventually move up in weight and challenge a champ. Quillin is still green if you really liked him you would understand he needs seasoning and a good solid test to see where he ranks among the top in his division.

You can use the comparison of Brinkley-Bute but in reality Bute fought a much sharper better fit Brinkley than the loose man Quillin fought. It was also at a lower weight and as most know triangle theories dont always work Kim KO Diaz, Zappavigna KO Kim, Diaz KO Zappavigna in order.

I would rather see Johnson against Bute that would be a good action fight and Johnson will always bee a live underdog and anything can happen in boxing.

good to see Bute is trying to STEP UP THE COMPETITION!

Quillin really don't make sense to me though, Quillin is still trying to establish himself eat super middleweight, I don't think he should jump in weight just yet, let him climb to the top at 160 FIRST then maybe in another year or so they yeah but right now...MAKES NO SENSE, regardless of what he "WALKS AROUND AT" it is about fighting at a weight YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AT...NOT the weight you walk around at

but Johnson would be a SOLIDS fight for him since Johnson Last Fight was at 168

Dirrell would be a GREAT TEST but Dirrell need a few fights, he been off for too long to just JUMP IN WITH Bute
