He was unique. The sport wouldn't be the same without him. I mean, this guy was fighting during the civil rights movement and was an icon of rebellion for many all over the country--still is. He defined the generation and carried the torch of Joe Louis as an American icon, albeit one of rebellion. He immortalized boxing as an an integral part of American culture.

Would Leonard have ever become as popular as he did?
