Oh by a longshot it's a much more lucrative fight, pavlik gets stopped inside 9. I can respect your opinion. I think Bute is talented but his defense is suspect, despite how good of a counter puncher he is. We just haven't seen Bute's lack of D lately because he's been fighting B and C level fighters. Despite whether people think Dirrell acted against Abraham or not, the fact still remains he was dominating him. Dirrell is quite accurate. Dirrell's speed, timing and his good range would keep Bute very tentative and would lower Bute's offensive output very much. Bute reminds me of Dawson in the sense that he has very decent handspeed but his feet seem as if they're stuck in cement, which is how pascal was able to beat Dawson with his footspeed alone. Dirrell would not allow Bute to set his feet. Just my opinion.
Andre Dirrell vs. Lucian Bute: who would win?

If Dirrell is the fighter he was before his injury lay-off, then I would pick him to win comfortably.
He's a better boxer, he's faster with both his hands and feet, he's very good defensively...Dirrell with a very wide decision win.Comment

Dirrell can beat Bute
Dirrell is athletic, good speed, decent footwork, all around a better technical fighter.
Bute is pretty good too, but to someone else's point Dirrell is a bit more polished fighter.
HOWEVER, the wildcard in this fight IMO is the inactivity of dirrell. That may be a factor, have not fought needed rounds throughout the 16 months (i believe) may show some sign of ring rust.Comment

I doubt Bute would come to the US to fight a fighter as good as Dirrell in American debut... We all know Dirrell won't travel to Canada or Romania and risk another incident like Nottingham.Comment

Bute will have a hard time trying to land those uppercuts with Dirrell on the move. Dirrell outpoints him.Comment
