Guys, please do not think that I am a Bob Arum fan, or that I would trust him further than I could kick him.

    Read this.....

    http://www.boxingscene.com/arum-on-p...ms-more--42239

If what Arum says is true, and it probably is, otherwise Kelly could publicly dispute it (60/40 - 82% of TR's purse goes to Pavlik - 1.35mil guarantee).....
then it sounds like he has done a great job by going in to bat for Kelly, I suggest that a lot of other promoters may not have been quite as patient.

Arum is very good at his job, but his propensity to lie cheat and steal, is what has put him above his competition. In saying that it sounds like Bob has done a great job, and has been loyal to Pavlik?

Somethings up with Kelly, I think that The Devil is correct.

Pavlik is looking at the world through the bottom of a glass.

Neither Pavlik nor Bradley are in his position, but I was just interested to hear that posters opinion on the recent issue with Bradley and how it relates to the decision that Pavlik just made.

Again, I do not consider Pavlik to be in the position that Bradley is in right now either, just interested to hear, thats all.

And I dont believe the 3.5mil for Kessler, it just doesnt sound right.

My point is based around the "willingness" of many boxing fans to completely ignore the business aspect of the sport, just because it suited them to do so, today.

Bradley is convinced that he is next in line for Pac, but Pavlik does not have too many options at all..... it sounded like a good deal, not sure whats up with Kelly. He dont have too many chances left I imagine.
The difference between Bradley and Pavlik is that Bradley didn't agree on terms, sign a contract and then refuse to fight less than a week before the fight after tickets have already been sold. I don't agree with Bradley's decision to turn down the Khan fight. However, I can understand his reasoning because he would have had to sign an extension of his contract with Gary Shaw to get the Khan fight and he did not want to sign another contract with Shaw. Pavlik is seriously mentally ill because he is trying to make a comeback after engaging in self-destructive behavior; yet he thinks he deserves as much money for a fight with Bute as a guy (Kessler) who is at the top of his game in terms of popularity and sells lots of tickets. Comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges.

Also, Kessler probably had lucrative tv contracts from Denmark, that is where that 3.5 million was coming from.
Completely irrelevant comparison. Fighters, especially those in a position of power such as Floyd, get what they want during negotiations. How many fights has Floyd ever pulled out of?

Pavlik had to sign off on these bouts for them to be made official. Apparently, and I don't know his side of the story, he accepted all terms then changed his mind.

Solid point, but this situation is not like comparing apples to oranges.

Both stated that they refuse to fight because they want a bigger piece of the pie and better contractual conditions.

I totally agree with you that the difference is in the timing.

But I cant reconcile Kelly's point about that offer. There must be more to it, Im guessing that he has a few issues to deal with atm.

Pavlik is despised in his home town. nothing but a lowlife who is drunk all the time couple that with an inept trainer and poor guidance you have a Moe-Larry and Curly scenario. sad but that's the way the bottle empties.

Tickets were not selling to Saturday's fight. Pavlik wasn't training hard. The situation with his brother last month around booze. Just look at the guy he is a mess a tattoed billboard for satan. He would have been fighting a bum in an empty arena at home with no fans. That is pretty bad. Pavlik's arrogance has worn thin they are saying in Youngstown. Trailer park trash.
