this fight won't take place - if it did - cotto boxes his ass off for a UD. arum wouldn't pit two of his most decorated fighters, coming off BIG wins against each other, not now. the 3rd fight will be made, and if theres a wait in the interim - castillo'll have a tune-up or something against hatton.

Now I no why you dont post much Baya (just kidding).

First off I agree with you that this fight sounds good on paper and is fun to talk about but Arum is most likely not going to let it happen.

Second, I dont believe a third fight is going to happen anytime soon, I think Corrales's people need to do whats best for their fighter and throwing him back at Castillo is not whats best for their fighter. At the very very minimum he needs a year before another fight with JL, at the very minimum.

Third, since when is fighting a guy like Ricky Hatton a tune-up?

Fourth, Cotto boxing somones ass off...Cotto is a warrior and he is not hard to hit either...these two factors tell me one thing...Cotto is not going to box anyone's ass off. The fight is a guranteed war, so dont fool yourself...I like Cotto but he is no master boxer...keep in mind Cotto will show Castillo nothing he hasnt seen a zillion times before, listen to Floyd Mayweather talk about JL, he said that Castillo did things in the ring (crafty/tricky things) that no fighter has ever done against him.

Baya...p4p the most level headed Puerto Rican on the site (boruc is good too), remember it's partially my job to keep it that way!

actually, i don't post as much because u've developed the inability to detect my sarcasm, yes, hatton is no tune up, scap. TA DA!!!

we all know that boxing is a tricky sport and i just have this feeling that castillo being put in against cotto would have cotto on his toes and put on a show, hand speed, countering and body work.

you know how i know this?

**** ... what was the answer to that .....

on a side note - OldGringo - that was some real honest sentiments about cotto as of late.

if cotto takes this fight, his career will be over.

castillo's got more stamina, a better chin, more power, and more heart.

          castillo by KO.

All I hear is Cotto, Cotto...hes great, hes grand.
All I see is Cotto getting wobbled all the time. By guys that hit hard and by guys that dont.
Castillo the Taco King can take anything cotto throws for long enough to put this pretender on the mat.

That's exactly what I was thinking..well to be honest Cotto has a lot of heart.. But it wouldn't enough. It could be different if Cotto wasn't being hit and hurt so much in his last few fights. This would just be disasterous against a strong puncher like Castillo. If he tries to out slug Castillo there will be an "L" on his record.
