Yeah it was. It sounded too cowardly. Along the lines of "I'll wait till Mayweather gets old and loses his speed and reflexes". But it was actually about Khan wanting to improve.. Gotta change that..

I think he wants to wait for Mayweather to start to show signs of slippage. Like he said in that one GQ interview about fighting great fighters when they were on their way out like De la hoya.

i agree...exactly what i thought. have to have some sympathy with khan on this one...he is saying he wants to be confident in his own game....title suggests he is waiting for mayweather to get over the hill (which may still be true but khan didnt say it like that)

i disagree. the title is correct but that's irrelevent. lately every other word that has come out of khan's mouth has been mayweather, mayweather, mayweather. he even went so far as to say it was a fight he thinks he can win.

just as suggested by another poster in this thread, he's promoting himself off of floyd's name. amir dreams of being on the same level of mayweather but seems reluctant to prove it.

until he feels he's ready, he shouldn't mention floyd's name at all. he definitely shouldn't be mentioning floyd's name as often as he has lately.
