Reasons why I favor Tarver over Wlad: Tarver is old, Tarver was a big underdog, Tarver went a long distance for this fight.

Reasons I would favor Khan over Wlad: Khan was more impressive, Zab style wise should of presented problems.

Not taking anything away from Wlad but the way he fought left a sour taste in my mouth. Like I stated before I don't demand a fighter to go outside his comfort zone, especially if he is dominating but Wlad should of tried to get Haye out of there. Had he knocked Haye silly he would be the toast of the month.
I like Tarver too, but it has nothing to do with race.

I like him for being the best commentator/analyst in boxing, always refreshingly fair and objective. He always gives credit to boxers regardless of race or where they're from. He comes across as a genuinely good-hearted person.

I was impressed with Tarver's performance too, and I was tempted to choose him in the poll. But his opponent Danny Green, as I said on here before the fight, has never impressed me. I was one of the people who picked Tarver to win, although I thought it would be by decision.

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

Speaking from a boxing stand point I agree 100% with everything you've said. From a personal standpoint though I like fighters of all colors or nationality depending in who and how they fight. Skin tone doesn't play a part in how I judge a fighter.

And yeah, the mama's boy is very quick with the edit button. It comes from fear of having people know his true feelings.

The only problem is with this is I never typed that and have never been seen as a racist and religious bigot on these boards. Maybe you should cry to BPP to pull up both the original versions of our post's so you can prove you're no racist, mama's boy.

True, skin shouldn't matter but I think you would be lying to yourself to think most people follow this. My two favorite fighters are JMM and Miguel Cotto are not Americans, nor are they black, but I get called nationalistic left and right from a lot of posters on this site.

Yes, I do like to see Americans do well and don't see a problem with that. I think it is fine to root for people that are from the same area or you can relate to, as long as you aren't being racist or slandering another persons culture. Wlad for example, I can't relate to that guy other than we both are white and had Wlad not been able to speak English I would feel even more distant from him and view him as Ivan Drago. On top of all that he fights a jabbing style, cautious and calculating which I can respect but can't say it is that exciting. I respect Wlad as a fighter and know he is very good but he isn't on top of the must see list for me. Really don't see anything wrong with that or people thinking along those lines.

              I'm not a racist.

If you and any black person were both falling over a cliff at the same time, and I only had time to save ONE of you, I'd decide to save the black person and let you fall to your death.

I know you live in the past and don't follow boxing nowadays, but sometime you should listen to Antonio Tarver's commentary. He's always fair and objective about boxers, giving them deserved credit regardless of their race or where they are from.

You should try to be more like Antonio Tarver. He's a much better man than you are. He's able to rise above those ****** prejudices and nationalistic bigotry - why can't you?

During the HBO telecast, I remember they said that on the day of the fight the betsmakers in the UK were slightly favoring Haye to win.

I would probably hesitate with indecision and they'd both fall.

It doesn't matter. The whole reason we brought it up was that I thought Wlad was a huge betting favorite, which I guess he wasn't. I could see it in the UK but in America, I am very surprised that Wlad wasn't a huge betting favorite.
