I saw his fight against Martinez on Saturday and also the fight against Narh, and wasn't impressed. He has power but is very lacking in technique. He will get outboxed by the top dogs at 140-147.

That said, I do think he has a decent shot at grabbing a title in the future though.

kid is talented no doubt but he's not really a kid anymore and at this stage he really needs to fight someone of note next

Alvarado-Garcia or Alvarado-Matthysse would be cool next.

Looks like he's out of that shadow for now.

          Time for a title shot.

There are some big differences between Alvarado and Ortiz.
            Technique: Ortiz
            Power: Ortiz
            Speed: Ortiz
            Stamina: Alvarado
            Toughness: Alvarado
            Chin: Alvarado(But close)
            Mental strength: Alvarado

I think Mike has pretty much achieved what I hoped he would when I started this thread.

              Great win over Rios.

                  Great win, most definitely.

I like Alvarado, he's willing to leave it all in the ring, one of the hardest workers out there and he deserves this.

Would be great to see him headline a show in his hometown.
