    1. Cotto was a very good fighter. Arguably HOF worthy. He is NOT an ATG. Whether or not he is a "great of this era" depends on your criteria.

    2. Cotto is NOT at the same level as Pac OR Floyd. Period.

    3. Floyd was never scared of Cotto.

    4. Cotto was a great welterweight, but Cotto has ducked everyone that is dangerous at 154. Fact.

    5. Strugg, stop with the silly Cotto threads and just do what you really want to do, which is sing hymns to your god Manny Pacquiao.

What else needs to be said?
Cotto would have whooped on Mayweather.

Cotto would've also won on Dancing With The Stars, but it's not true 'cause it hasn't happened.

I agree...Mayweather avoided a prime Cotto. They asked him a couple of times if he would fight Cotto and he came up with excuses that were almost as bad as puckiao's : "he's not a big name, he lives too far"...

As for Cotto, he made it clear that he was willing to fight anybody which included Mayweather.

However, during this whole time Cotto never reached out to Mayweather. During this time Cotto was making fights with Gomez happen, and then negotiating and the Margarito fight was set in motion.

If Floyd didn't retire after the Oscar rematch negotiations fail through. The Cotto fight still wasn't going to happen. Because, Cotto was making fights with Gomez and Margarito pre Floyd retiring. Never reached out to the guy who was the champ of the division.

I don't see how Floyd ducked him.
So when Mayweather said Cotto wasn't a big enough name and that he needed to build a fan base to get a shot at Mayweather, that wasn't a duck but he truly felt the fight wouldn't generate enough revenue?

I truly believe Mayweather retired because he knew the pressure to Cotto and Margarito would become too much.
