Is Amir Khan Ricky Hatton All Over Again?

If Floyd KO's Khan, how many people will say Floyd fought a blown up 140lb'er?

Here's the thing, Khan needs at least 3 victories over proven WW's (i.e Berto, Jones, and Cotto) before facing Mayweather. If not, people will say Khan wasn't a proven WW.

If not, the ending result will be a lose-lose, no win situation for Floyd.

IMO, to much to lose and not enough to gain.

Just as people said Floyd was fighting a "real WW threat" in Shane Mosley during the pre-fight hype, many people changed their tunes after the fight..

People will say the same thing after Floyd beats Ortiz. Ortiz was a blown up JWW. Mark my words.

Please do not compare the skilled and sophisticated Khan with the face first brawler and drunkard that was Ricky Hatton.

There is a huge disparity in skill and class between Khan and Hatton, Even in the fans you will find Khan fans tend to be middle/upper class urban socialites whereas Ricky Hattons were skinhead simpletons and football hooligans.

The difference betwen Khan fans and Ricky Hatton fans: Khan fans drive to work in a BMW, wear a suit and tie and work at a desk 9-5pm, Ricky Hatton fans go to work by bus and wear a uniform with a name badge and work at a counter at strange hours.

I think the difference is, theres no good alternatives right now at 147.
Sure Jones could become a future star, but hes just not fought anyone.

When Floyd fought Hatton in 07, there were quite a few alternatives at 147 for floyd to fight.

lol, and which of those would usually be the best (as in loudest, most passionate) fans? Probably not the suit and tie people.

Just as Khan went through Judah, Hatton went through Castillo...

Hatton was undefeated for 11 years before fighting Mayweather. The media hyped Hatton up to be this killer that Floyd was scared to face. I see the same momentum building for Khan through the media.

This seems like De Ja Vu all over again.

Khan has never and will never get a fraction of the media coverage that Hatton got because he does not appeal to the same people. Hatton appealed the undereducated and underprivileged working class of the country who viewed Hatton as "One of the commoners", Khan is a complete anathema he appeals to the educated and privileged who see him as the "Golden Boy" of British boxing.

Khan might be getting a lot of help from the media, but he is definitely way better than hatton in skills and speed. He will be the top honcho in WW and JMW soon.
