Good fight IMO, it's a risky-low reward for fight for Martinez against a hungry, talented guy with little to lose. I don't see why people are looking at Barker like he is some sort of can, as said I know damn well Sergio is a beast but Barker is not to be underestimated by anybody, this kid can box and he has fought and has a lot of experience fighting a lot of top-rated southpaws.

Guy reminds me of Carl Froch's fighting style. He is fluid. Also, although biased he does have knockout power.

Watch those videos, that is him against a teak tough guy who arguably beat Zbik and the likes, 18 months after an lift threatening injury and he boxed his head off, Barkers no mug!

I can't believe how underrated this guy is, there is no ring rust etc now and as said he is super against southpaws, this kid has a chance and I don't care who or how many say otherwise. If he sticks to a decent gameplan he can win this.

Sure it's unlikely but it's not impossible by any stretch. If Barker brings his A game & Sergio takes Barker lightly, he's in for a long night.

i agree on pirog. not sure why everyone is so high on him unless kuvanych toygonbaev and kofi jantuah are way better than i remember them being. but then again, maybe a lot of you thought jacobs was gonna be the next pound 4 pound superstar with an amazing million dollar smile

They wouldn't get away with it because they have hundreds of good options to choose from between 140-154 that would fight Pac/Floyd in a heartbeat. If the only fighters that people could think of that are available and willing to fight Martinez are are Pirog and Kid Chocolate, then that says more about the weak division than Martinez. And I'm not convinced Barker is particularly better or worst than those two.

True but he has beaten a very respectful european in the name of Spada & Martinez has only shined in the last few years himself.

A maybe washed up Pavlik, draw against Cintron, great win over Paul Williams who I wouldn't say was washed up just exposed by Quintana who laid down the blueprint on how to beat him and a win over a robotic Dzinzirik (sp) Nothing to special IMO, not taking anything away from Sergio he is a great fighter but realistically I don't think his record is all that.
