Its a toss up, it depends on which type of win you prefer.
The kotelnyk fight wasn't only impressive in the fact that khan won every round but it was Khans debut fight at 140lbs, against a seasoned world champion. Khan could have easily fought a easy opponent at 140lbs to get used to the weight and grow into it, but he risked a fight with one of the best straight away.

Style wise it was a easy fight for Khan, he had no power to worry Khan and the speed difference was too much. Khan even said Kotelnyk was the worst champion at 140. if Maidana would have got the decision over Kotelnyk in their close 2009 fight i highly doubt Khan would have moved up and fought him. It took Khan almost 18 months to finally fight Maidana.

That is where Khan's team deserve credit they gave Khan the time to be ready and it payed off. Maidana will always be a tougher fight for Khan that Kotelnyk just based on styles.

yeah...... 18 months since his 1st fight at 140.

khan must've been so scared of maidana.

i mean after he moved up to the division he didn't fight maidana 'til the next year.

I wasn't having a go at Khan you silly boy , it was smart to fight Paulie and Salita instead as they were much easier fights.

Do you think he was ready for Maidana in 2009?, there was talk about the fight happening instead of Salita.
