Alot of the fights mentioned ruined the legacy of the guy (myth is more like it) more than it did their careers. Some of the fighters that I thought were ruined were ones like Davey Moore who was a young champion who took a tremendous beating by Duran, and perhaps John Ruiz, whose 19 second knockout loss to Tua, may have been what ruined his confidence and has turned him into one of the more despised fighters to watch by boxing fans, because he is content now to just lunge in, hit once and hold. And then there's Tony Ayala who just simply ruined himself.

i think hopkins has retired the most fighters that i know of, if not ruined there careers. just take a look at his record, he's retired a good handful of guys as well as, after losing to hopkins they never really got back on track to win......look at joe lipsey, guy was like 20-0, after hopkins....nothing. the only one that comes to mind, that has had any kind of wins and has made a decent career for himself is glen johnson. i would say for numbers sake hopkins has ruined more careers..... i know that there are some other that can be argued, but for the most part.............hopkins!
